Nations Paddling as One

May 18, 2009

Welcome all the Nations Paddling As One Canoe Project,  I am Wii Gwina tt , Henry Green.  I have had many people walk with me through my journey to where I am today, especially my family.  I am grateful for what the Creator has given me and blessed for the many blessings that have come into my life.  Nations Paddling As One was created with a vision, a vision where I know our ancestors came from. My vision is to continue these teachings that were taught to us many generations ago, by involving Elders and youth.   I too was once in the Residential Schools,  however,  I do not like to say I am I survivor,   we are here for a reason,  and reason being this project will involve community.  It is simply a project that will incorporate Elders and Youth alike to bring back what our History always had, to be able to work in harmony and come together with unity from all nations abroad.  This is Nations Paddling As One,  just like our ancestors have,  now we welcome you.  Please feel free to leave your contact information,  email address,  phone number.  Feel free to browse.  I would like to thank everyone involved in assisting me to complete this website,  family and friends. Nations Paddling As One states it all…..WELCOME……

    Ni’it. Ian Caplette di waayu.

I am a student at Vancouver Island University and a Lax Kw’alaams member who is very interested in connecting to my culture. I am the only one of my generation who wishes to do so and I am happy to hear and see what you are doing. I plan on giving back to the community which has given me the option of growing in the ways that I have through education and am looking to graduate in 2011.

I wish to say t’oyaxsut ‘nuun for what you are doing to strengthen our Nation and look forward to your future success.

    The website looks great.
Quick mention regarding the Tribal Journeys. During the 1997 NAIG here in Victoria, I was present for the canoe welcoming, what an amazing site. Last year during the 2008 NAIG in Cowichan I witnessed the canoe welcome again. You are right about the Northern groups not representing enough. Tsimshian step up!
I look forward to viewing the updates to your website.
Get my dad (Alex) down to the carving shed would ya!
